Review - Andrew Collinge Illuminating Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner

Hi guys!

Sorry this post has taken so long!

If you read my blog regularly you might remember that I won a competition and received £100 worth of Andrew Collinge products! I've been using the shampoo and conditioner for blonde hair (which I have) for about a few month now so I thought it was time I did a review........

First of all, these smell amazing! I love the smell so much. Both the shampoo and conditioner have chamomile, almond and aloe vera in them which are to help eliminate dullness and reveal shimmery, shiny tones! They also make your hair smell gorgeous and the smell lasts in your hair as well which I like. I hate it when you get a shampoo or something that you love the smell of but it just washes straight off.

They both have a UV filter to help protect your lock from the harmful rays of the sun as well. I really like this cause I'm really paranoid about my hair being in good condition. I would say that since using the shampoo and conditioner my hair has a little bit more of a shine to it and looks really healthy.

You get 500ml in each bottle so these are lasting me aaaages! They aren't very expensive either. You can pick them up in Superdrug for £4.99 each or 2 for £7 and I'm sure I saw them in Tesco the other day for £4.99 buy one get one free.

I really like these products and I cant wait to make my way through my collection. Once I have used them all up though I think I would definitely buy these products again.

NOTD - 17 Lasting Fix Mint Choc Chip

I love this colour! I was a little unsure while I was putting it on cause I haven't really worn a colour like this before but I'm so glad I put it on! It's so summery and lovely! This is 3 coats of the colour but I think I might apply another coat on top of this.

Everyone should have this colour in their life!!

Review - Montagne Jeunesse Fruit Smoothie Face Mask

Hey everyone!

Last week I reviewed the fudge sauna mask so I thought I would review one of the other mask I have. So this week it was the turn of the fruit smoothie face mask. This mask is a pore cleansing mask and is supposed to leave you feeling cleansed and sparkling!

(Image taken from montagne-jeunesse.com)

The first thing I noticed was how thick it was, it reminded me of a clay mask. It has raspberry, mango, apricot, peach and pomegranate in it so it smells really fruity! I'm a little unsure of the smell though, I can't decide if I like it or not, I'm leaning slightly more towards not liking. I don't know what it is about the smell, might be the raspberries cause I'm not a massive fan of them.

So put the mask on nice and thick cause you seemed to get loads in the packet, you could probably get 2 uses out of it if you were careful. I then sat back for the next 15 minutes and let the mask work its magic! While the mask was drying I noticed that it made my face feel really cold which was quite refreshing. After 15 minutes I headed to the bathroom to wash it off, this is where the problems started!

I found it took ages to wash all the mask off cause it was so thick and I ended up with it everywhere. Once I finally washed it all of thought it did leave my face feeling nice and smooth and every time I moved my head throughout the night I got a nice fruity smell from it. When I looked in the mirror this morning though my pores were all really visible!! I could see some I had never seen before which is never good!

All in all I'm not very impressed with this mask, I much prefer the fudge one. Don't think I will be re-purchasing this particular face mask.

Review - Ardell DuraLash Individual Lashes

Bonjour!

I have a terrible track record with false lashes! I normally end up with them stuck to middle of my lid or gluing my eye shut which is never a good look. So when I was sent these lashes by Andrea Lashes I wasn't holding out much hope for them. But after watching a few videos on how to apply them I was feeling slightly more confident.

So I set about tackling these little lashes, first thing I had to do was find something to put my glue on to. I made a little box out of tin foil and poured the glue into the middle of it and left it for a couple of minutes to go tacky.

While it was going tacky I took some before pictures of my lashes. I am always being told how long my lashes are but I don't really notice them and they don't look particularly long in the photos I took.

I don't like my eyelashes that much cause they are quite fair at the roots and I find it quite hard getting them all covered without getting mascara all over my lid!

So after leaving the glue for a wee bit I got my tweezers and took one the lashes and dipped it in the glue. I found it surprisingly easy to apply these lashes. I had much more luck with these than I had done with any strip lashes I'd tried before. They were a little bit fiddly but trying to apply the individual lashes was a lot easier than the strips and buy the time I got to my left eye I was a lot better than when I started and did it a lot faster.

I thought I did not bad for my first go! If you look really closely you can see some of the knots and I probably used a little more glue than I need to but I think it looks pretty good! After sleeping in them, a couple came out the next morning but I think that was more the way I had applied them than the glue. So I just re-glued them and I was good to go! By this point though I was loaded with the cold and the thought of putting on make up was too much.

These were a lot more comfortable to wear compared to the strip lashes as well. Normally when I have strip lashes on I am really aware of them but I couldn't feel these at all! The glue is supposed to last for 4-5 weeks and the lashes fall out as your new lashes grow in. I've already taken mine off though. I am just really bad at picking at things (I always pick my nail polish off!) and I've been in my bed ill the past couple of days so I picked them all off.

I will definitely try these lashes again but I think when I buy some I will buy medium ones. These ones are long ones and I felt the were a little too long for wearing everyday. Apart from that thought I love these lashes!

Review - Fudge Sauna Face Mask

Hi guys

I thought I would pamper myself a little bit tonight so wiped out the face mask collection and picked Montagne Jeunesse's Fudge Sauna face mask. It's a self heating mask that smells of vanilla fudge. It's supposed to open and deeply cleanse pores.

So I slapped it on my face and the first thing I noticed was how warm it was. I wasn't really expecting must on the self heating front, but I was pleasantly surprised. The mask only stayed warm however while I was applying it and moving it around with my fingers. After that it lost its heat.

The smell of this mask is amazing! It smells just like toffee yogurt to me and make me just wanna eat it all up! Thankfully I restrained myself and managed to get it on my face instead. Every now and again while I was wearing it though I would get a wee wiff of the amazing smell! It is quite sweet smelling though so if your not into sweet smells this probably isn't the mask for you.

After 10 minutes I washed it off with warm water. It came off really easily and left my skin feeling really nice! It had taken away the dull look that my skin had had before I applied it which was great and my pores definitely look clearer. I would definitely buy this mask again, it's a bargain at only 99p and a lot of the time they are on offer in Boots and Superdrug!

My Lovely New Lashes!

Alrighty!

A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to win a goodie bag from Andrea Lashes on twitter and it arrived yesterday! I couldn't wait to open it and see what goodies were inside!

I got 2 sets of DuraLashes (top 2 sets in the picture), one set is a short set and the other is a long set. I cant wait to try these out, Ive never tried semi-permanent lashes before! It'll be interesting to see if I have anymore luck with these than I do normal eyelash strips. I also got a bottle of Perma-Lash Adhesive (bottom left) to apply them with.

I also got 3 sets of false lash strips which are all made from 100% human hair. There's a long black set (bottom middle), corner set (middle right) and a brown set of lashes (middle left). I've never seen brown false eyelashes before so it'll be interesting to see what they look like on. I also got a tube of eyelash adhesive (bottom right).

This was an amazing goodie bag and I'm really looking forward to having a play around with all my new lashes! You can

NOTD - Inspired by Cat!

I'm loving nail art just now and after seeing Cat's tutorial for glittery leopard print nails I thought I would give it a go! (you can see her post here!)

For the base colour I used 17's Pink Grapefruit, and for the dots I used 17's Sea Breeze and Asda's Lilac. To make the black marks round the dots I took Cat's advice and used an old eyeliner I didn't use, which worked great! For once my unsteady hand came in useful. I applied my No.7 top coat to make sure the eyeliner didn't wash off.

This look was super easy to do and I know it's not great looking but it was my first time trying nail art, so I can only get better!

NOTD - Urban Decay Graffiti

I bought this in Superdrug when I was getting some of the prizes for my giveaway. It's a really gorgeous shade of blue, that's got a purple shimmer to it when the light hits it.
I put this on before I went out this afternoon but I managed to get marks and chips in it which isn't good! I've taken it off and put it on again though cause I want to give it a fair go. Hopefully it's going to last a wee bit longer this time!

I was trying to get a picture where you could see the purple in it but it wasn't really happening!

May Favourites

Hiya

This is my first favourites post that I've done but I love reading them so I thought I would give it a go. It's great finding out what other people like and use all the time. I can't believe it's June already though! The year is going so fast.

Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick in Apple Blossom - I love this lipstick just now! I wear it every day and find it doesn't dry my lips out. I wear it on it's own or sometimes add a lipgloss over the top for a bit of colour. I've been wearing it with my Sleek Pout Polish in Pink Cadillac.

Banana Republic Alabaster Eau De Parfum - I cant get enough of this fragrance. I got it free with a voucher that was in Grazia magazine and I love love love it! The only thing I don't like about this is the bottle that it comes in. Cause it's only a little bottle it doesn't have a spray on it. Ive decanted some of it though into an atomizer that i had so that makes it much easier to apply. Once this one runs out I think I'm definitely going to have to buy the bigger version!

Holland & Barrett Skin, Hair and Nails Formula - I started taking these about a month and a half ago because I wanted something that was going to help my hair grow. Now I cant say that my hair's grow loads but I definitely think it's a lot more healthy looking. I've had complements on how shiny it looks these days! My nails are also a lot lot stronger than they were before I took them. They would always break and split but since taking these they're in great condition. I'm just about finished my second bottle of these and I will definitely be getting more.

Soap and Glory Heel Genius - This is a pretty new purchase but it has become a firm favourite! This product is amazing! I put it on for one night and when I woke up the next morning my hard skin had all but disappeared.

Nails Inc.Candy Nail Polish - This is one of the nail polishes that cam free with InStyle magazine and I've been wearing it loads since I got it. I think it's a really nice summery colour and it lasts really well.

Benefit Sugarbomb - I got this when it first came out and never really used it but I've re-discovered it over the past month and I really like using it. I tend to use it to contour, there is some shimmer in it but it's really really fine so I think you can get away with it. You can also use it all over your face as a finishing powder/bronzer plus I love the smell of it!

Natural Collection Tinted Moisturiser in Fair - I've been using this product since the weather's been a bit better cause I don't really want anything too heavy on my face. It gives me a really nice colour and coverage. I only need to use a tiny amount so it's going to last me ages! It's great value for money too as it was part of the 3 for £5 offer in Boots.

So that's my May favourites! Hope you enjoyed!

NOTD - Nails Inc. Milan

Hi everyone!

This is from the Nails Inc. and Diet Coke collection and is based on the city of Milan. I think it's a really nice shade of red and I'm slowly getting used to wearing cause I'm much more used to wearing pinks. Thought I would give this one a go though and I really like it!
